my pearls from the psalms

One Psalm ~ One Verse

The book of Psalms is a treasure book for life. Like any treasure there must be the willingness to search (read) to discover the riches contained within the pages. On this page is "a pearl" I discovered for myself from a particular psalm. Using the original King James version I pick ONLY ONE verse (the pearl) from each psalm. Some psalms are easier than others, ranging from 2 verses (Psalm 117) to 176 (Psalm 119). Before reading a psalm, I say a little prayer. "Lord, open your Word to me and open me to your Word.”

“The fool says in his heart, ‘There is no God.’ They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds; there is none who does good” (Psalm 14:1).

Be careful not to misquote or misunderstand the Scriptures. Yes, the Bible contains the phrase “there is no God,” but it is not a declaration from God—it is a description of the words and thoughts of the fool. This is an important distinction. It is the fool who denies the existence of God—not because of reasoned insight, but because of moral and spiritual blindness. This denial has echoed since the earliest days of creation and continues even now.

Humanity often lives as though it holds its own destiny, independent of divine authority. People deceive themselves into thinking they can define their own truth, chart their own course, and escape accountability. But Scripture makes it clear: a day of reckoning is coming. God will not overlook willful ignorance or rebellious hearts. Foolishness may be common, but it will never be a valid excuse in the face of God’s righteous judgment.

Let us, therefore, walk in wisdom and truth, remembering that reverence for God is the beginning of knowledge (Proverbs 1:7), and only the fool chooses to reject Him.
