As we leave behind the difficulties of 2020 and look ahead to the promises of 2021, let us focus on these familiar Bible verses. Let our prayers for God's guidance in the coming months remind us to celebrate the life we already have and walk confidently into the new year with a fresh perspective remembering God’s promise “that He will never leave us or forsake us” (Hebrews 13:5).

"I know the plans I have in mind for you, declares the Lord; they are plans for peace, not disaster, to give you a future filled with hope." — Jeremiah 29:11

NEW TESTAMENT

“So then, if anyone is in Christ, that person is part of the new creation. The old things have gone away, and look, new things have arrived!” — 2 Corinthians 5:17

"Don’t be anxious about anything; rather, bring up all of your requests to God in your prayers and petitions, along with giving thanks." — Philippians 4:6

"Every good gift, every perfect gift, comes from above. These gifts come down from the Father, the creator of the heavenly lights, in whose character there is no change at all." — James 1:17

"Therefore, humble yourselves under God’s power so that he may raise you up in the last day. Throw all your anxiety onto him, because he cares about you." — 1 Peter 5:6
